Christmas Eve

Well it's quiet around here. Jay's mom's side got together last weekend so it's just us for now. Jay's mom will be here tomorrow for Christmas day. We'll do the gift thing and have a turkey dinner. Started our morning with pancakes and bacon.

The kids and I like chocolate chips in ours. I just sprinkle a few mini chips after I pour the batter.
Before lunch we walked around to our neighbors mailboxes to hand deliver their cards. I attached two packs of microwave popcorn with pretty red ribbon.

Here is the inside of the card: "Just wanted to "POP" over and wish you and your family a very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year."

A couple neighbors didn't have those newspaper slots on their mailboxes so we knocked on their door. This neighbor wasn't home so we just left it in a grocery bag on their doorknob.

But for a couple other neighbors, we just stuck it in their mailbox.

Vienna and Lance took turns.

Jay carried the cards.
I had Colin.
It was a nice day for a walk and I'd like to make that a little tradition. We did see 1 neighbor and chatted for a few minutes but our goal was simply to deliver some cards and wish them a Merry Christmas. We talked to the kids about loving our neighbors and giving.

Next phase of Christmas Eve is baking something yummy (cookies or brownies) so we can eat treats later while watching a movie together. We'll give the kids their annual Christmas tree ornaments too. Keeping it simple.

MERRY CHRISTMAS!
