Walking

I'm 31. I have high cholesterol in my family. I was recently diagnosed with osteoarthritis. I want to see my kids grow old. So I must get my butt out and exercise!!! I am not easily motivated in this venture but I am ready to commit. I don't understand what finally clicks to make ya ready but I hereby announce to the world, that I WILL be active everyday, weather and health permitting. Walking has been the most convenient thing to do since my kids are small. I have so many places to go around here and am thankful for that because I like change! We even have a couple tracks in the area with parks for the kids and I told my husband that if I can't get out in the day, it'd be great if we could go to the park together and he can watch the kids while I walk alone! We did that last night and it worked out great. My goal right now is just to walk at least 30min a day. As I get conditioned we'll see if that changes to running.
I have many people in my life right now who have motivated me through example. Noella is a marathon runner and loves to be outside. Kinny and Philip just did their first 1/2 marathon this past weekend. Amy has commited to being active. A new friend Whitnee runs in races. Kim, Tami and Laurel have always made exercise a part of their lives. So thank you all for the part you've played to motivate me!
As accountability, I'll keep track on here. I'll write monthly how often I was out. I can't believe I'm putting this into words. I vowed to start his back on Aug.20 but from then til now I've only been out 6 times. Not good. So that's why I'm admitting it here.
I was out today. Yay me! And when I get this under my belt... I shall work on my diet! I'm not ready to commit to that 100% yet. ;o)
